Summer Birds of Percé

A Tourist's Guide

hill_perce-1w.jpg

As a sixteen-year-old, David spent the summer on Bonaventure Island off the Gaspé Peninsula in Québec, Canada. He worked in a tourist lodge four hours a day for his room and board, and watched and photographed the local birds in his free time. He has since returned many times. In recent years, he and his wife, Elisabeth have spent their summers in Percé on the coast across from Bonaventure Island, seen in the background above. David's book, Summer Birds of Percé, A Tourist's Guide, was published in 2020. It contains more than 440 beautiful photos showing 174 species of birds seen in that area in the summer.
