Capt. Harry Scott Donnell was born in Greensboro, N.C. He enlisted in the U.S. Army Air Corps on March 15, 1941 and ferried aircraft during World War II. He flew everything from trainers to B‑29 bombers.
Harry died in Greensboro at the age of 100. His wife of 58 years, Anne, predeceased him in 2009. He is seen here at a SPAR reunion.
