Harry Newman was hired in 1948 as one of Seaboard's early flight radio operators. When the radio operators were phased out, some of them were trained to be flight engineers on Seaboard's new Super Constellations. Part of the training was provided by Curtiss-Wright, the manufacturer of the Connie's engines at the Wright Aeronautical Division Service School where he is seen above in 1954.
