Seaboard uniforms

A Web page with 21 photos of Seaboard uniforms has been added. The photos were all previously used in the Seaboard video or on the Website. Some of them are not very good but they are the only ones I have showing a particular item. Given that at least 500 F/A's worked for Seaboard, including more than 250 during the Vietnam War, there must be more photos out there showing F/A uniforms. If you have any good photos to replace ones that aren't very good or to add something not shown, please let me know. For instance, I have no photo showing the gaucho hat from the 1970's.

Most of the details came from the database and narrative for the Seaboard video. There are some items that might be jumpers, smocks or aprons. If you know what they were officially called, please let me know. There are a couple of items that I'm not sure are Seaboard items; the smock (if that's that it is) in the 13th photo and the cape in the second photo from end. The colors of that photo were so deteriorated that I'm not certain what color the cape was. Also, what are the yellow zippered garments in the 14th photo? Did they also come in blue?

The earliest uniforms are almost always seen only in black-and-white photos but I have posted a color photo showing that the men's neckties were red in those days.

There is a link to the uniform page on the Seaboard home page.

Mystery Photo

I have posted an interesting photo taken in the 1950's by a San Francisco-based professional photographer. Jack Pugh is on the left and the big guy on the right has been identified by Bill Callanan as Jack Dempsey. He appears to be signing autographs The other three men are all very warmly dressed. In addition to their leather jackets or coats, Jack Pugh is wearing a vest, the second man has a sweater, and the third is wearing a scarf and perhaps a sweater under his leather coat. Only one of them is without a hat or cap. Can anyone identify the two men in the middle or the occasion?

If anyone has any information about him, please contact me.

In the memorial section, a better photo has been posted for Capt. Buzz Callinan

In the memorial section, a better photo has been posted for Capt. Harry Sroka. It was provided by Katie Sroka and she doesn't know who took it. Please let me know if you took the photo or know who did.
