As I stated I would do in my report presented at the reunion and posted on the Web site, I have separated the SPAR portion
of the Web site from the Seaboard portion. As I explained, this is to facilitate David Hill's task of finding the best home
for preservation of the Seaboard legacy, including the video.
The SPAR part, with a new home page, can be found at
http://www.seaboardairlines.org/spar
All SPAR sections should now be fully available, except that most items on the news page have been temporarily removed
until I can update the links. This will be done shortly. All sections are as they were before. The addresses
of the Seaboard pages are the same as they were.
The address for the Seaboard home page is
http://www.seaboardairlines.org
It is the same address previously used for the combined site.
There is a link on each home page to the other home page. Going from any section in either part to any section in the other
part requires one extra mouse click.
The two reports dealing with the preservation of Seaboard's legacy can now be read
here.
Given that both sites contain a total of approximately 2,700 files, it is extremely likely that I failed to move every
file that needed to be moved and changed every link that needed to be changed. Please let me know if you find broken links
or other errors.
With this change done, David can proceed with his task, which he describes clearly in his report. As I stated in my report,
his qualifications for the task are unmatched in our group. His competence was clearly demonstrated by his conception,
creation, and production of the Seaboard video. Except for my help with photos, it was a one-man show. Much of the history
section on the Web site comes from the video, as do many of the photos. He therefore also has a unique incentive to see that
his work is properly preserved. The preservation of Seaboard's legacy is in the right hands.
