Capt. Edwin M. Foster

Capt. Ed Foster served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean and Vietnam wars. He reached the rank of lieutenant commander. Ed met Doris Zeller during their first year at Danbury State Teachers College. They married on December 20, 1953 and were together until she died, a few weeks after their 68th wedding anniversary. They are buried together in the Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, Fla.

Ed joined Seaboard in 1958 and eventually served as Chief Pilot. He finished his airline career at FedEx.

Ed is seen here on the left in the cockpit of a Boeing 747F and on the right with Doris at the Seaboard reunion in Portsmouth, New Hampshire, May 2007. She predeceased him by seven months. They were survived by their 3 children and their partners; Ed Foster and Dennis Winstead; Laurie Foster and Michael Livingston; and Tim Foster and Trudy Foster. They are also survived by several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
