David Joseph Hart

Dave Hart grew up in Astoria, NY. He worked for Western Union from the 1930s until 1942. He served in the U.S. Army Air Forces during World War II in the 8th Air Force, 388th Bomb Group, 562nd Bomb Squadron. He was an airman with B‑17s in the United Kingdom and reached the rank of Technical Sergeant (TSgt) by the time he was discharged in 1945.

Dave married Margaret Errico on September 25, 1948 and returned to military service with the New York 106th Air National Guard on October 28, 1948. He was on active duty with the Strategic Air Command from March 1, 1951 until July 20, 1952.

Dave joined Seaboard in 1957 and continued to serve in the Guard until August 26, 1982, more than 30 years. He was promoted to Master Sergeant (MSgt). Dave retired from Flying Tigers in 1988.

Dave is survived by daughters Debbie and Patty; granddaughter, Christina; and grandson, Matt Susko.
