Nancy was born in Jefferson, Iowa and grew up on a farm. where she learned her work ethic. In her early teens, she moved with her parents to Texas where she attended high school and San Antonio Junior College. She started as a 3rd‑grade teacher but left after a year to become a flight attendant at Saturn Airways in 1962 and continued at Seaboard from 1967 to 1972.

Nancy left Seaboard to become a nurse and retired in 1991 as director of critical care at St. Rose Hospital in Hayward, Calif. She joined the Rotary when she learned about the Wheelchair Foundation. She joined the wheelchair committee and traveled several times to poor areas in Central America and Mexico to distribute wheelchairs, even though she hated hot weather. In typical Nancy fashion, she became president of the Rotary club in Pleasanton Calif. where she lived for more than 30 years.

Nancy's husband, Robert, predeceased her in 1998. She is survived by her sister, Patty (John) Rabada of Livermore; her brothers Tom (Chris) Cuddy of Crosby, TX, and Robert (Suzi) Cuddy of Kerrville, TX; and her late husband’s daughter, Merrily (Jerry) Rosenthal of Granite Bay, CA.

She is seen here in December 1967
