Capt. Leon Smock was born in Neptune, NJ. He was a graduate of Monmouth University. After college, he served as pilot in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War where he flew C-130 aircraft. After his Navy career, he was hired by Seaboard and finished his airline career with FedEx.
Leon is survived by his brothers Thomas and Jeffrey, and his sister, Susan.
