Russ Thal was born in the Bronx, NY. He graduated from Taft High School and Tulane University. In 1956, Russ married Judith Sonberg. He worked in flight operations at Seaboard. In 1981, he was the founder, President and CEO of Compuflight, Inc., a company that provided computer flight plans to airlines.
Russ is survived by his wife of 66 years, Judith; his daughters Susan (Lewis) Roch, Donna (David) Stricker; and his son, Dr. Gary Thal. He is also survived by grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
