Ronald A. Weir

Ron Weir was born in Vallejo, Calif. He served in the U.S. Air Force and was a veteran of the Korean War. He worked for United Airlines, Sterling Philippine Airlines, and Airlift International before joining Seaboard's maintenance department. His career continued with Flying Tigers and FedEx where he spent 11 years as the maintenance manager in Indianapolis.

He was also an accomplished pilot and flew some of the aircraft that had been converted to resemble Japanese fighters in the film, Tora, Tora, Tora.

Ron is survived by his wife of 33 years, Alice Simmons Weir; his daughter, Jennifer Palmer; sons Jeff and Michael; 7 grandchildren; his brothers George and Douglas; and his sister, Alma Wassner. He is seen here at the 2000 SPAR reunion in Cocoa Beach, Fla.
